We are alive!!!!

So, I have made a new goal. Do a blog post at least once a week. I think if I can do this, I will become one of those parents who can't ever stop talking about every little "cute" thing their kid does. So I apologize in advance for that!!! I have gotten so behind on blogging though, so it might take me a while to get caught up!! But for all 2 of you that might possibly be still looking at this blog.........be excited. And I mean you Aaron J Dahl!!!! P.S. I can't wait for you to be my doctor. :)

Sam.....my happy chubby boy

So I know its been FOREVER since I posted anything. It's not that I'm too busy or overwhelmed being a new mom, I'm just lazy and it's hard to decide what cute pics to put on here of Sam. So here is just a couple teasers!!! This first pic is the first pic we have of Sam smiling!!! We went camping 3 weeks ago when he was 8 weeks old and these pics were taken there.

Sam has really made being a mom pretty easy. Don't get me wrong, I am sleep deprived, but other than that, he is fairly easy. He is happy most of the time except when he gets gas! But who isn't unhappy when they have gas? ha ha. He is now pretty much sleeping through the night, which is awesome, but he seems to think about 4:30-5am is a good time to wake up for the morning!!! WE are working on that. Ha ha. He eats a ton! (which is pretty obvious) but I can't get enough of those chubby cute cheeks!!!! Last week I took him to the doctor because he got an ingrown toenail (I know!!! At 2 1/2 months?!?!?!???) and he weighed 13lbs 4oz. and he can now wear most 3-6 month clothes.

Mark is really loving being a dad and is really good with Sam. It's funny because when I was pregnant, he would tell me he didn't really like babies until they were older and to not be suprised if he wasn't that into Sam until he got older. That is totally the opposite of what has happened!! He can't get enough of him!! Sometimes I have to be like, "remember me? Your wife?". Sam really loves his daddy and smiles for him a lot more than for me. It's okay though, I dont let it hurt my feelings (most of the time). BOth our families are absolutely in love with him, and living with William and Gracie (our niece and nephew) has been fun because they always want to see him and play with him.

I feel so lucky that Heavenly FAther let me be Sam's mom. I am also so glad that He allowed him to stay here on earth with me. It's been amazing how much I think about Miles since having Sam. I hope they know each other. I look forward to the time when I get to cuddle and love on Miles too!!! I hope that Miles watches over his brother and I can't wait for the day I get to see them be together!!!

Just real quick, I wanted to update. Our little Sam Michael got here on May 27 at 11:06am just perfect!! Things have been a little hectic though, because I got pnemonia the day after I got out of the hospital. Hence.....no pictures yet. Soon though, I promise!!!! He is so precious!!!!

I just wanted to write really quick to let you all know.....I had an amniocentisis today and our little guy's lungs are develpoed so we are having a baby tomorrow!!!!!!! YEA!!!! So wait for pics to come!!!!!!

Me.....yesterday. 28 1/2 weeks!

Again.......I know, I'm having a huge kid. I've had a few lovely people ask me if I'm about to pop because I'm HUGE! Thanks......but I have a couple more months. But thanks for asking....jerk. ha ha

My cute baby boy!!!!! I got these 3D images 3 days ago. At first he was being stubborn and hiding his face, but I poked him for a while and he turned right to the camera for us! Mark and I think he looks like my brother Aaron. It's funny because whenever I see ultrasound pics for other people I'm like, "oh that's nice (I know I'm so sweet) but once I saw these pics of our kid, I was sooooo excited! I'm in Love!!!!!

Okay so here is the update!!!! I am officially 29 weeks on Monday! (in 2 days). That is 3 weeks further than I got with Miles and things have been going absolutely perfect!!!!! Sometimes I think it's too good to be true. The only bad part is because when I had Miles they had to cut me open like an upside down T and I have hardly any stomach muscles, so I carry the weight in my back and pelvis. Sometimes it can be excruciating. But lucky for me I have an awesome brother in law who is a chiropractor (Dr. Clint Huston at Desert Mountain Chiropractic in Queen Creek.....go to him, he's amazing!). That helps me a ton.

Also, I am going to have a planned C-section at 36-37 weeks. So that means I only have 7-8 weeks left!!! YEA!!! At 36 weeks they are planning on doing an amniosentisis to see if the baby's lungs are developed, and if they are, then they will deliver me the next day. And if they aren't, they will deliver me a week later at 37 weeks. So the end of May......here we come!!!! I am getting very excited!

As for names.....it's been funny, Mark and I can't agree. But finally we have! His name will be Sam Michael Huston. Sam-for my dad, Michael-for Mark's dad. Mark isn't wild about the name Sam, but after lots of begging and pointing out that he named Miles and I'm the one who has been pregnant with him, and he is getting cut out of my stomach, he relented. He keeps saying he is going to just call him Buddy or Sammy Whammy. Either is fine with me. I liked several other names, but none seemed right, and I feel good about the name Sam. Even if he has the same name as the guy who helped the Texans win at the Alamo.....but who even knows that right? ha ha. PLus that guys name is Samuel and his last name is spelled different.

So that's my pregnancy in a nutshell. Honestly, I don't love being pregnant and it's really uncomfortable, but it will be totally worth it. I watch the Baby Story a lot and every time they hand the baby to the mom I cry! I cant wait for that moment!!
