Happy 2nd birthday angel boy

Dear Miles,

2 years ago today, you came in to our lives. It was not in perfect circumstances, but you were so teeny tiny and just beautiful. I couldn't believe you were my baby. Even though you were only here for 2 days, it was very obvious you were a special spirit. Anytime I was around you the spirit was so strong and I felt very close to my Savior. The day you left us was such an emotional day, but oddly, mostly in a good way. I am grateful that Heavenly Father gave us 2 days with you and as you entered the spirit world, again the spirit was so strong. I remember your Granmda Huston saying she felt like her Dad was there and I have no doubt he was and many others. I am so glad that you are in our family. It will be such a great reunion when we get to see each other again!!!
We are doing so great now. As I'm sure you know, your baby brother Sam is just wonderful!! They call the baby you have after losing a baby, your rainbow baby. And he is just that!! He is so happy and brings me and your dad so much joy!! Sometimes I look at him and wonder if you are alike. I feel like Sam is more like me, loud and friendly with everyone, and for some reason I feel like you are more like your dad. More quiet and very smart. I could be wrong though!! ha ha.
I know I say this over and over again, but i hope you know how much I love you. I am grateful to know that you are safe, and probably more happy than you have ever been. Happy Birthday sweet angel boy, my valiant soldier!!!!! I love you more than words can say!!!
Love,
Mom

Sam now loves turning the light on and off! It is hilarious!!!

He also loves throwing himself backwards and hanging upside down!

Funny, cute kid!!!

The Turkey Trot.......and Thanksgiving!!

This year after having Sam, Mark and I decided it might be "fun" to start running. I have tried to become a runner before, but it didn't really work. This time....I decided it was going to work!!! So we started training for the Turkey Trot that happened on Thanksgiving. Mark ran the 10K and I ran the 2 mile fun run. Both Mark and I decided our goal was to just run the whole thing. I originally wanted to run the 10K too, but with my baby weight still on, 2 miles was good enough for me. Here is me and my mom before running!! She ran the 2 mile fun run with me too!!

Here is Mark, our bro-in-law Russ, and our sis-in-law Allie. They all ran the 10K!!!

Here is me and my mom finishing!!! I ran 2 miles without stopping. I know for most of you that's nothing, but for me this was HUGE!! It was hard, especially cuz at one point of the race there was an incline, but I did it!!!!! But I wont tell you how long it took. ha ha. The winner of the 10K ran it in about the same time it took me to run 2 miles!! :)
Lovely......thanks for the flattering pic Dad. This is me when i stopped running.
Our "Finisher" ribbons!!!!

MY biggest cheerleader!!! AWWWW! Can you even stand how cute he is?

I can't get enough of him!! He is so cute in that beanie!!

Baby Sam and Grandpa Sam

Here is Mark finishing the 10K!! That's 6.2 miles for those of you who don't know. His goal was just to run the whole thing but he was pretty sure it would take him more than an hour. But he ended up running it in 58:39!!! Even when we trained for this, the most he ever ran was 3 miles! Can you believe that? My hubby is a stud!!!

Mark and Russ. They did it!! Russ' goal was to finish in under an hour. He ran it about a minute faster than Mark. Go Russ!!!!

The new running couple. I am actually starting to like it!! I hope soon it starts getting some of my baby weight off too!!!! GO US!!!!
The rest of Thanksgiving was wonderful. We spent all day at Mark's parents house and then spent all day Friday with my family! It was a great week!!! And if you didn't notice, I finally learned how to write captions above the pictures!!! It only took me about 3 years to figure it out!!! ha ha!!!!
