Mark's birthday!!!

2 weeks ago it was Mark's 34th birthday. It was a pretty low key but fun day which is exactly what he wanted. A couple days before, I took Sam to the dollar store and told him he could pick out a few presents for dad. He was so excited and wanted to but him everything! It was too cute! Here are some pics from the day!!!!

We went to breakfast at Harold's coffee shop, one of Mark's favorite places and a place I went a lot on my mission.

Sam and Daddy opening his gifts from Sam! He got him a Halloween slinky, binoculars, an airplane, and a policeman play set. He loved it all of course!

I got him a couple shirts and this "better call Saul" shirt. Breaking Bad is Marks favorite show and Saul is his favorite character so he loved this shirt!! It was a pretty good day! Happy birthday Mark! We love you!

My Scout

Today my post is about my sweet girl. I am so grateful she came to our family! I found out I was pregnant with her last year about this time and I was really nervous to be pregnant again. That pregnancy started out similar to the other 2, I was sicker than a dog, but it was a little different! I actually started to feel better my 2nd trimester! I remember thinking then it must be a girl, because this is different!!! When we found out she was a girl we were extatic! It has been so fun dressing a girl. Little Scouty girl has been so fun lately. She is super happy all the time. She hasn't always been that way though. At about 4 weeks old she got super fussy and would scream for hours!!!! Come to find out she had acid reflux and once we gor her medicine figured out, it was much better! Now she is my happy, loud, sassy girl!! I just love this girl to pieces! I'm so happy she is mine!!!!!

It's been a while

For the past few weeks I have been trying to better myself. I think I kinda just let myself get lazy and wasn't really trying at all to do better at anything. I blame it on pregnancy and having a new baby, but don't think I totally can. Anyway, I was rocking my 5 month old baby to sleep last night and the prompting came to me to start doing my blog again. Prompting a are such a great thing! I hadn't felt one in a long time because I wasn't really doing the little things like reading my scriptures and praying to really get any, so when I had a really strong feeling to start doing my blog again, I knew it was the spirit. I got the strong feeling that I need to keep this record, not for others, but for my family and posterity. The weird thing is, I used to think about how much I had missed posting in the last 15 months and think I needed to go back and catch up before I started it again, but while being prompted to start again, got the feeling that it was okay and that I should just start from here. So here it goes! Team Awesome is back!!! Here is a little recap from the last year:

Mark finished his 2nd year at Creighton law school and rocked it!!!!!!!

In Feb. this cute boy was born! Eli Palmer Dahl was born to Aaron and Allie and is my first nephew on my side!!!

Yup, I got pregnant with our 3rd baby!

Here I am the morning I delivered, April 1, 2013.

Scout Annabelle Huston joined our family weighing 6lbs 7oz and 19 1/2 inches long.

Poor girl had to be in the NICU for a week. Her lungs weren't quite developed, but she was a trooper and did great and hasn't had a problem since!! Thankfully, my parents were here to help out with Sam. It was a really hard week emotionally but we made it!

My pretty girl

Sam had his 2nd birthday......

And then his 3rd!!!!!

This kid brings us so much joy! He is so kind hearted and sweet and just says the funniest things!!

I can't believe I have a 3 1/2 year old!

This handsome guy turned 33!

He rocks my world!

I turned 30!!!!!!!

And we celebrated 5 years of blissful marriage!!!! (Not in that order though)

Our beautiful family on Scout's blessing day!!!!

One last pic of this cute stink. I just love her!!

Last but not least, we flew to AZ and lived there ALL summer! Mark got an awesome Internship that he loved. It was fun being around all our friends and family, but we are back home and Mark started his 3rd and final year of law school!

The last 15 months have been a roller coaster of fun, emotion, and craziness but I wouldn't trade it for anything!!!!!!

5 more days!!!

Kansas City mini vacay!

2 weeks ago Mark had a week off between school and his internship, so we took a short vacation to Kansas City Missouri with or friends Nate and Callie and their 1 year old twins Hank and Hattie (who I didnt get any pic of....bummer).  On a side note, Mark finished his 1st year of Law school and I couldn't be prouder of him!!!!!  Anyway, back to Kansas City.....so the first thing we did was go to the named place above.......Oklahoma Joe's BBQ.  It was seriously TO DIE FOR!!!  Now, I am definitely not a BBQ girl, so for me to be saying that, it means it is SOOOOO good!!!  SO if you ever go to Kansas City, you HAVE to go there!!!!!

The next day we saw the newly dedicated Kansas City Temple!!!  It is so pretty!  We seriously missed the open house by a week!  Bummer!!

Next we went to Liberty Jail where the Prophet Jospeh Smith was for 7 months (I think?).  IT was so neat to be there!!!

The jail

Can you even believe how small that is?  All 5 of those guys in there for that long with one teeny tiny window, and they couldn't even stand up all the way!  Plus they hardly got any food, etc......horrible!!!! IT was cool though to see the temple and to think less than 200 years ago members of our church were persecuted and driven out.

MY cool little dude!

He loves his shades!

"hey mom, what's up?"

Then we went to the Community of Christ temple (the former RLDS church) and took a tour.

It was really pretty inside, but crazy to see how one difference in opinion can change so much over the course of 100 years.  Oh and they have 3 women apostles and a woman in their 1st presidency!

Look at those baby blues!!  The next day we took Sam to this awesome park called Deanna Rose's Farmland park.  IT was so cool!!!  It had tons of farm animals and several amazing playgrounds.  PLus it was only $2 to get in.  You definitely have to go there if you are in Kansas City (and if you have kids).

So much playing!!!!!!!  Then on our way out of town, we had to end the trip with more BBQ...so we went to this place.  It was pretty good too!!!!!!  BBQ......YUM!!!  Kansas City is known for it's BBQ and let me tell you, I know why!!!!  SOrry to my Arizona friends, but Joe's BBQ doesn't have nothing on Oklahoma Joe's!!!!!  Seriously, it is that good!!!!

All in all it was a much needed, fun trip with Mark!!!  Before he started his internship.  We had a great time!!!

Kite flying

For easter, we got Sam a kite and finally 2 weeks ago decided to take it out for a run.

Daddy getting it ready

Here it goes!!

Sam loved it!!!!!
