Sisters by chance, Friends by choice

Mother daughter pic

My new sis!
So as most of you knw, I dont have any sisters. Since getting married and now my brother marrying Allie I now have six new sisters! (i think. hopefully I'm not forgetting anyone). Gee, am I lucky! So I was telling Al the other day, I would always see those plaque things that talk about sisters and be sad. You know which ones I'm talking about. One I am particularily thinking of that I have seen says, "Sisters by chance, Friends by choice". My Mom and her Sisters always got them for each other. So I told her, now I can get one of those for at least 6 people now!! ha ha. And that made me excited. I know, I am easily pleased.

Al's bridal shower

Can you believe I made this?
Me and Aud with the finished project
All the cute girls that threw the shower (Katie, me, Kelly, Aud, Courtney Amy, and Loudawn)
Allie!!! Opening the gift from my mom and I!!! ha ha

So as you can see......allie had her bridal shower last weekend and it was a blast! I don't know how, but Aud and I were put in charge of making the chicken salad sandwiches. (for those of you who know us, know how funny that is!!!!). Anyways, so after a couple of hours of chopping grapes (ya that is tedious), apples, and celery and thinking we messed it up a couple of times, we did it!!! And everyone loved them. The shower had a great turnout and it was a lot of fun! She got a lot of fun gifts too. :)

One week ago..............June 24, 2008.............. was the 2nd best day of the year, the 25th anniversary of my birth, yes yes it was MY BIRTHDAY!!!!! It was a great b-day. I love birthdays. Mark is so funny, to him it just another day of the year, but to me.........the only day I can be selfish and everything can be about me and I dont even feel guilty!! This year was especially great because I got to celebrate my b-day for like 4 days!!! Saturday the 21st: my cousin Heather threw a b-day party for me and her little boy Zach!!! It was fun and even my grandma hit the pinata! Sunday the 22nd: We had my "b-day dinner" at Mark's parents house and has the best meal in the world.....chicken rolls!!! (thanks Maurine!). Monday the 23rd: my parents took us to dinner at Boston's and they gave me one of the best presents ever......food storage!! I know that seems lame, but I was totally excited. Tuesday (the big day) the 24th: the girls at work took me to Paradise Bakery for lunch and gave me a cake. That night Mark and I, Allie, Aud, and Heather went to dinnger at Red robin!! It was so much fun!!!! Wed the 25th: my aunt deena and my grandparents took me to lunch at Serrano's!! So ya, I ate a ton!!! ha ha. Oh and Mark gave me tickets to the John Mayer/Colbie Caillet concert!!!! He also gave me a workout video called Turbo Jam that I have been wanting for a while. So it was a great b-day!!!

Well.....I've been tryin to think of something to blog about for about a week now, but ya know, I'm pretty boring!!!!!! I guess the only thing really to blog about is that we got a new couch and love seat and I LOVE THEM! They are so cute and so comfortable. My parents had given us the ugliest teal couch that was broken and so uncomfortable so we decided to use our Economic stimulous check to buy a new couch and love seat! So we found the perfect ones on Craig's list in perfect condition and we love them. So that's about it for us right now. We had a great Father's day weekend with both of our dad's too! I will have pics to come of our new couch and love seat!!!

Me after the hike. See that HUGE peak?!?!?! I hiked that!!!! So take that Dr. ***** who says I'm obese and out of shape! (okay so I am out of shape, but I still did it!)
One of the hard parts
My daddy-o at the top!!!
Me and my aunt Paula at the top

So on Memorial day, my aunt Paula thought it would be a great idea to hike Picacho Peak. Well, when my dad asked me to go, my first thought was, "ya right!". But then after thinking about it and after being told I was obese, I thought, "heck yes, I'm doing this!". What I didn't know was that it was 2 miles basically straight up!!!! No, it wasn't really but almost. It was about 2000ft. up in that 2 miles, and part of the way you had to wear gloves and pull yourself up with cables. So basically I was dying the whole time and couldn't walk the next day, but hey, I DID IT!!! It was a great sense of accomplishment!!! And I guess it was fun. ha ha
Proof that my marriage doesn't stink! These are flowers my cute husband brought me just because. He is so cute!!!
Here we are a couple of weeks ago just before our "date". Doesn't it look like a MORP pic?

Since we have been married, I think pretty much the only question people can think to ask me is, "So how is married life?". Does anyone know what I mean? I always think this is a funny question. I sometimes think it would be funny to answer, "Oh ya know, it stinks" just to see the reactions that I would get. Luckily for me, married life is Awesome!!!
