Sam loves snow!

Yesterday (Dec. 3rd), we had the 1st big snowstorm here in Omaha.  It snowed all day!!!! It was the anniversary of Miles passing away and my friend Amy said to think of it as "confetti from Heaven" and that Miles an other people were sending it to me to tell me everyhing is okay.  I think I will think of it that way.  It actually made the day good.  I think snow is so pretty and Sam loved to be at the window watching it!  We woke up this morning to this!!!!!!

See how deep it is?  I think we were supposed to get 4-7 inches.

Pretty Christmas tree in our parking lot!

The picture obviously doesn't do it justice, but this tree is across the street from us and it looks so pretty!

Sam was soooo into the snow plows and the maintainence guys for our complex were moving the snow off the sidewalks and he was so amazed and kept saying, "WOW!".

I love this one!

Yay for snow!!!!  i think later today we are going to bundle Sam up and brave it outside.  He has been sick with croup, but he is almost totally better and hopefully a few minutes wont be too big of a deal.  Maybe I will post some more pics!!!

3 years

Yup, it's been 3 years.  On Dec. 1st, my angel boy Miles would have been 3 years old.  I can't believe it's been that long.  I feel like there is nothing new to say, except I wish he was here.  Sam would have so much fun playing with him.  Oh well, they will get that opportunity!  I decided that I wanted to make a cake for his birthday, and obviously you can tell, I need to take a cake decorating class!!  Ha ha.  But it was still fun!

Mark lit the candles and we sang Happy Birthday!

Sam was amazed by the fire.  Whenever he sees fire he says over and over, "hot! hot!".

We let Sam blow out the candles and he did it!!!

2 of my 3 cute boys!

Me and my boy

I can't not kiss those cheeks!!!

We then let Sam go to town on a piece of cake.  He was definately nore interested in playing in it than eating it!!!!!!!

He then wiped it all over Mark's shirt.  It was so funny!!!  I'm glad we did it.  Then on Dec. 3rd, the 3rd anniversary of when Miles passed away, my parents and my brother Tanner went to the cemetery.  These are the pictures they took.

I also found out that my mother in law Maurine, and sister in laws Connie and Debbie and Deb's kids went too! Here is a picture Debbie took that I stole off of her facebook page.

It really meant a lot to me that so many in our family went.  I had been feeling bad that I didn't get to go and it really made me happy when I found out they went!  I am so grateful for the Plan of Salvation.  I know that I will get to be with my boy again!  What a happy thing to know.  I miss you so much Miles!  Oh and this morning I showed a picture of Miles to Sam and he said his name!!  That made me so happy!!!!!!!!!

My baby (that isn't a baby anymore) is 18 months!!!!!

This cute boy turned 18 months on Sunday!  Hellooooooo nursery!!! :)  He has actually been going for the past 3 months because Mark is a nursery leader and I teach primary, so it was the only option.  Anyway, I'm starting to get sad that my baby isn't a baby!!!!  He is seriosuly the best kid!!!  I am so grateful he is my son.  I couldn't even imagine my life without that sweet, happy, silly, boy!!!!!!!

This kid loves his Daddy so much!!!  And the feeling is definately mutual!  I love to watch these two play together.

I'm not sure of his height and weight, but I think Sam is kinda short.  He is still all cheeks, but such a busy, busy, busy kid!  He loves to run, play, try to jump, and even tries sometimes to do summersaults!!  He loves dogs, trucks, trains, dirt, and everything boy!  He loves cartoons especially Curious George, The Cat in the Hat, Super Why, and Dinosaur Train.  He is just like my brother Aaron when he watches cartoons, you sriously can't get his attention or break him away!!!!!!

He talks sooo much too!  He probably says over 50 words and is even starting to learn numbers and letters.  I know every parent thinks this, but we think he is a genious!!! :)  He just started giving kisses and hugs and now calls out, "Mama" and "Daddy" when he wants us.  I love it!!!!  He loves babies, books, and he loves his bottle.  I know, I need to break him of that one.  I'm just not ready yet.....:)
This is a goofy pic of Sam, but I just love our little family.  I love Sam so much, sometimes I can't stand it!!!!!!  Happy 18 months baby boy!!!!!!

Black Friday

I know, I must be crazy.  I braved Black Friday for the 1st time ever!!!  MY friends Crystal (next to me) and Missie (next to Crystal) do it every year with their moms and sisters, but since we all live away from them, we decided to do it!  I was prettymuch done with my Christmas shopping (or the lack of getting many gifts, really) so I basically just went for fun!  It was actually really fun!!!  Of course it took me 4 days to get caught up on my sleep, but I'm glad I went!  I even got Sam a movie for $2!  I think I just might do it again next year.  Thanks for the fun childless night Missie and Crystal!!!!!!!!
Oh and here is the line behind us!!  It was probably this long in front of us too!!!  People are crazy!! Some people were tryying to cut in front of us and the lady behind us totally shoved this guy!  The things people will do for a good deal!  YIKES!!

11/24/11 Thanksgiving and our 4th anniversary!!!!!!

This Thanksgiving was a little different this year.  We stayed in Omaha and decided that since it was our anniversary, and that Mark has been super busy studying for finals, that we wanted to just spend the day together as a family instead of doing Thanksgiving with our friends.  We had a great day!!!  First off, Mark let me sleep in and he got up and played with Sam! (He is so sweet!) Then we made egg's benedict for breakfast, and it was delicious!  After taking morning naps, we went to this pedestrian bridge downtown that we had wanted to go to for a while.  It was 60 degrees too, so the weather was perfect!!!!  The bridge goes over the huge Missouri river that divides Nebraska from Iowa.  Sam loved looking down at the water, and he kept saying, "WOW"!

The beautiful Missouri.......

Sam saw a puppy, so he was in heaven!!!

Look!  I'm in Nebraska and Iowa!!!!!

Sam wanted to push his car and he pushed it all the way back across the bridge and to the car!!

Then we got to skype with Mark's whole family!!!  Here is Debbie and Russ!

And then we skyped with my parents!!

Later we watched A Christmas story (I love that movie!) and we just hung out together.  It was a perfect Thanksgiving and a perfect Anniversary!!! I just wanted one uninterupted day with my hubby and so I got that!  I am so grateful to be married to Mark.  He is my perfect match, and he makes me so happy!!  I love you babe!  Here's to 50 more years!

New Hair

I know, I know, I am never satisfied with my hair!!!  But I have a new goal to love myself more, no matter what, and I have always wanted a pixie haircut.  I have always said I would cut my hair into a pixie when I got skinny.  Well, I decided that one way I can start loving myself more is to quit thinking that I would do this or that once I was skinny.  So...................I did it!!!!!!!!! I cut my into a pixie!  And I love it!!!!

Museum Day!

For a while we had been wanting to take Sam to the Omaha Children's museum because we had heard it was awesome, and because it has been too cold lately for Sam to play outside.  So a couple of Fridays ago, we pickeed Mark up from school and headed to the museum.  Little did we know it closed at 4, so we only had 20 minutes!  But the awesome guy at the front desk let us go in anyway for free!  So here is what we did in 20 minutes............

They have a huge dinosaur display upstairs and I thought Sam would love it because he is way into the TV show on PBS the Dinosaur Train.  Boy was I wrong!! He was scared to death!!!!  It may have had something to do with the fact that they moved and the T-rex roared really loud in his face!  ha ha.  He was still intrigued......

They had this cute little playground where the playground equipment was in the shape of animals and he of course loved that too!

I know this pic is blurry, but I love it cuz he is so happy to be playing and running around!!!

My silly, cute boy.....

He also loved this water display thing, and of course got soaked from it.

Daddy and Sam on the firetruck!

Hi mom!!!

They also had this cute miniature grocery store that you can load up with fake food and even check it out, and Sam was crazy over the mini grocery carts!!  He was running around like a crazy man everywhere!!  You would have thought we never did anything fun with him because he was extatic!

So even though we were only there for 20 minutes, we (and especially Sam) a great time!!!  Forget taking him Disneyland ever!!  The Omaha Children's Museum is awesome!!!!!!  The best part is we found out that student's families can get a year pass for $5!!!!!  Yay!!!!!!
